Research track - Innovating Higher Education Conference
Since 2022, COER and EADTU have collaborated annually for the Innovating Higher Education Conference (I-HE). The aim is to bridge policy, administration, and research in ODDE for more evidence-based discussion.
Through this partnership, COER organizes a dedicated Research Track at the I-HE conference, where all abstracts submitted to Research track undergo a single-blind peer review. Additionally, each year a selection of outstanding contributions are invited for submission to OLJ and JODDE. This ensures that high-quality research and discussions reaches a broader academic audience.
This year, we are proud to continue this collaboration and encourage researchers to contribute to this growing body of knowledge in open and online learning.

OLJ and JODDE
Both JODDE and OLJ are peer-reviewed, diamond open-access journals with high-quality publication opportunities for selected research track papers from I-HE 2025.
The Online Learning Journal (OLJ) published by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), is a premier open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing digital teaching and learning. It covers topics at the intersection of pedagogy, emerging technology, policy, and practice in online environments. OJS is recognized as a Q1 journal in Education and placed among top 3 % of open-access education journals worldwide.
The Journal of Open, Distance, and Digital Education (JODDE) is a newly-established COER initiative journal, focusing on macro and meso level of research topics (e.g. institutional policies, leadership, support systems, internationalization, lifelong learning). It is a distinguished journal with a chief-editors and an editorial board representing 17 countries across all continents except Antarctica.
